Brant Imperatore's 2011 Philadelphia Half-Marathon Fundraising Page

Brant Imperatore

Dear Friends,

When I wake up on the morning of November 20th I will officially be leaving my 30’s and beginning a new decade of my life. What better way to spend this milestone then waking up at 6am and joining the 23,000 people lining up in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum in an attempt to struggle through the 13.1 challenging miles that is the Philadelphia half marathon. Did I mention that I have chosen to spend my birthday this way in an effort to welcome the big 4-0 in the company of my wife…who will be running the full marathon? So I will celebrate the coming of this new decade in a slightly different manner than I welcomed the previous two.

All joking aside, I have decided to take on this challenge and am proud to run on behalf of Liberty Resources Academy. Running a marathon (or a half marathon) is a test of perseverance and there is no doubt in my mind that I will run out of steam at times but knowing that I am running on behalf of over 54.4 million Americans who suffer from disabilities is sure to keep me going.

Liberty Resources Academy was founded in 2002 because people with disabilities make up the largest group of unemployed Americans. The Academy welcomes all individuals who aspire to gain the necessary knowledge and workplace competency to have a sound career and heightened independence in the community. The Founders of Liberty Resources Academy formed the organization with the understanding that "with all life experiences, growth involves continuous learning events combined with strong determination". I will keep this idea, as well as all of the eager individuals who rely on the work of Liberty Resources Academy, close at heart as I venture to finish the race and meet my predicted finish time.

Please join me in my effort to make a difference in the lives of adults with disabilities and help me to reach my fundraising goal with a donation. Any donation, regardless of the amount is greatly appreciated. Your support will directly benefit one of thousands of consumers that receive services with Liberty Resources.

Thanks,
Brant
